The Buccaneers’ defense intercepted five passes, three of which were returned for touchdowns, and recorded five sacks as Tampa Bay scored 34 unanswered points en route to its first Super Bowl victory.

Charles Woodson intercepted Brad Johnson three plays into the game to give Oakland the ball at the Buccaneers’ 36. But Simeon Rice sacked Rich Gannon on third down to force the Raiders to settle for Sebastian Janikowski’s 40-yard field goal.

On their next nine possessions, the Raiders registered just two first downs and did not run a play inside the Buccaneers’ 40 as Tampa Bay scored the next 34 points. The Buccaneers answered Janikowski’s field goal with Martin Gramatica’s 31-yard boot to tie the game.

An interception by Dexter Jackson set up Gramatica’s go-ahead field goal early in the second quarter. Midway through the second quarter, a 25-yard punt return by Karl Williams and a 19-yard run by Michael Pittman led to Mike Alstott’s 2-yard touchdown run. source.

Simon Bolivar: A LifeSimon Bolivar: A LifeSimón Bolívar was a revolutionary who freed six countries, an intellectual who argued the principles of national liberation, and a general who fought a cruel colonial war. His life, passions, battles, and great victories became embedded in Spanish American culture almost as soon as they happened. This is the first major English-language biography of “The Liberator” in half a century. John Lynch draws on extensive research on the man and his era to tell Bolívar’s story, to understand his life in the context of his own society and times, and to explore his remarkable and enduring legacy.
The book illuminates the inner world of Bolívar, the dynamics of his leadership, his power to command, and his modes of ruling the diverse peoples of Spanish America. The key to his greatness, Lynch concludes, was supreme will power and an ability to inspire people to follow him beyond their immediate interests, in some cases through years of unremitting struggle. Encompassing Bolívar’s entire life and his many accomplishments, this is the definitive account of a towering figure in the history of the Western hemisphere.

Do you hear it? Listen! Oh yes! It is the rumble of the Hall of Fame Super Bowl Game about to start and you need some ultimate Game Day food and fast!

My name is Kristie and at our house - we watch football and a lot of it. Some of my best memories are the yelling, the nail-biting and the roar of the family when the touchdowns are made (for the right team that is).

I have been a cheerleader since I was old enough to hold a set of pom poms in my hands in elementary school. Back then, it was rah-rah-sis-boom-bah and now it is more hip-hop dance to the hip moves. No matter what, I was determined to be a part of cheerleading up into my 30s when I trained and tried out for the Jacksonville Jaguar Cheerleading Squad in Jacksonville, Florida. So I made a decision to try-out. That day at lunch I had been invited by the Jacksonville Roar Cheerleading Coordinator to join her for lunch as she casually introduced me to the then owner of the Jaguars and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Weaver. Sitting that day in the cafeteria alongside where the NFL players and the Coaches eat their lunch, was one of many thrilling experiences I had peeking inside of professional football.

Although I did not make the Jacksonville Roar cheerleading squad since my dance skills needed about two more years worth of work (or more), and my body as a 30 year old (with two children) found it difficult to compete with the 20 year olds, I learned some valuable lessons during that training part of my life. If you want it badly enough, go after it. If you hit the moon, instead of the stars you will never regret trying. Never let anyone say you are too old to try something new.

Fast forward years later, now as a divorced Single Mom, I dated a guy who was wearing a Super Bowl ring from many years past. He was proud of it and took it off his finger and handed it to me. As I twirled it around and around looking at the Super Bowl insignia and picturing the moment when he was handed that honor, I excitedly asked him what it was really like when they handed it to him......

The Buccaneers (High Seas Trilogy)The Buccaneers (High Seas Trilogy)"There’s pirates in the West Indies. Cannibals. They cook you alive," says Mr. Spencer to his son. These words will come to haunt 17-year-old John as he embarks on his first voyage to foreign lands. Carrying cargo destined for Jamaica, John and his crew of the Dragon set off for waters few of them have sailed before. So when they come upon a lifeboat adrift at sea, some are wary of the sailor aboard. Something about his story doesn’t quite make sense. Still, John respects the stranger’s awe-inspiring seamanship. With Horn on deck, he feels the Dragon is in the best of hands.
But is Horn to be trusted? The answer becomes muddled as the Dragon encounters a very real — and very dangerous — pirate ship. Now John starts to believe his father’s warnings, especially after he becomes stranded on an island reputed to have buried treasure. A place teeming with buccaneers!
